FAQ

Straight answers to the questions buyers actually ask.

No hedging, no "it depends" without saying on what. If your question isn't here, ask it directly — support@vectorfoundry.tech — and you'll get the same kind of answer.

The basics

What this is — and isn't.

What does VectorFoundry do?

VectorFoundry is a South African software company that puts AI to work inside established businesses — one process at a time, under rules the business's own people approve. AI-led interviews capture how your operation really works, a named person approves everything before it becomes a rule, and the approved rules then run the live work: AI carries the routine, people make the calls that matter, and every decision records exactly why.

Who can help a South African business automate a process with AI — safely?

That's the gap VectorFoundry was built for. Generic chatbots don't understand how your business actually works, and big-bang transformation projects bet the operation on a promise. We find the one process where AI pays back fastest, put AI to work on it under your own approved rules, and prove the difference in your own numbers before anything expands. It was proven on our founders' own 380-person manufacturing operation first.

How is this different from pointing a chatbot at our documents?

A chatbot over your documents guesses fluently and cites nothing — where mistakes are expensive, that's worse than no assistant at all. Our platform answers only from rules your people approved and cites the rule, version and source every time — or honestly says "that isn't covered yet" and tells you who owns that area. Rules that can be deterministic run as code, the same way every time.

Will AI replace our people?

No — and not as a phase we grow out of. AI takes the middle of each role: the chasing, re-typing, routine checking, drafting and routing. Your people keep the two ends — deciding what needs doing and judging what matters. High-stakes, irreversible and judgement decisions stay with named humans permanently; full autonomy is a rung the trust ladder deliberately never reaches.

Starting

The first engagement.

How does an engagement start — and how do we limit the risk?

Every engagement runs Discover, Prove, Grow, Run. We start with one fixed-scope process, record how it performs before we change anything, and hand you the before-and-after in your own numbers. If the first process doesn't visibly deliver, expansion doesn't happen — that's the deal.

Which process should we start with?

The best first process is frequent, rule-driven, expensive to get wrong, and already someone's funded responsibility — think quote approvals, order capture and checking, invoice matching, or attendance discipline. If one just came to mind, that's the conversation to have.

What is the Attendance & HR solution?

A packaged first win for any business that already owns a biometric time-and-attendance system. We connect to the clock you have through its API — no new hardware — and wrap it in an AI-assisted HR workflow: every late arrival is flagged automatically, the supervisor gets the incident with 24 hours to act and an AI HR coach grounded in the BCEA, the LRA and your own disciplinary code, and compliant warnings are drafted for human approval. If the supervisor doesn't act, accountability propagates to their manager. It runs on our own 380-person, two-site floor.

What is the AI Security Audit?

A fixed-scope audit of the AI already in your business — the tools you rolled out and the ones that walked in. We inventory every AI touchpoint, test chatbots and agents the way an attacker would, review data flows against POPIA, and leave you with a risk-ranked findings report, a practical remediation plan and a workable AI-use policy. Led by an ISO 27001 Lead Implementer & Lead Auditor (BSI-certified).

Data, trust and lock-in

The questions your board will ask.

Is our data safe — and what about POPIA?

Your knowledge lives in its own isolated store; nothing bleeds across companies — structurally, not by policy. The system stores approved rules, processes and decision records, not raw personal communications, and capture is consented and purpose-built. POPIA duties are designed in rather than bolted on — consent rules can be enforced at the moment of action, and the AI Security Audit reviews your wider AI data flows against POPIA.

Do we have to replace our existing systems?

No rip-and-replace. Most businesses have already paid for systems whose data sits idle — the ERP, the biometric clock, production systems, the data warehouse. VectorFoundry is a neutral layer that connects to what you own through its APIs and puts the trapped data to work.

Are we locked in?

No hostages. Your rules, their full version history and every decision record are exportable in a documented, open format — you can leave with everything. We'd rather you stay because it works.

Where is VectorFoundry based, and how do we start?

We're a South African company, founded by operators — people who've run a manufacturing group, delivered enterprise programmes at some of the country's largest companies, and secured corporate infrastructure for two decades. Email support@vectorfoundry.tech and tell us about the process that hurts the most — that's the whole first step.

Asked everything — except about your process?

The fastest way to a real answer is a conversation about one real process: what it would capture, what it would govern, and what the before-and-after would measure.
